The next thing to do is to complete a mandatory regulatory requirement- KYC verification. We feel your pain, but it has to be done. We've done our best to keep it as simple as possible. 


The article is a little long- bear with us. 


Once you are in the app, you will see the button ‘Complete KYC’. Click on it. 


You will be redirected to our service partner’s form within the Zebb app itself. The first screen you will see is a consent form. You will need to give your consent to permit our partner to use your information for verification purposes ONLY. This consent is in addition to Zebpay’s ‘Terms and Conditions’ that you read (you did, didn’t you?) while creating your account. 


Tap on the button ‘Proceed’


On the next screen, you will be asked for the following information:


Name as per PAN

PAN Number  

Date of Birth 

Address

Pincode 

State 

Bank Account 

IFSC Code 

Source of Funds

Occupation


Follow the instructions given below


Name as per PAN

You will need to enter your name exactly as it appears on your PAN Card. We’re using an auto-verification bot to speed things up. Even a minor difference will confuse the bot and will require a manual intervention (meaning- things will slow up)


PAN Number  

Fill in your PAN card number in the correct format (i.e. AAAAA1111A). You will not be able to proceed if you enter an incorrect format. 


Date of Birth 

Enter your complete date of birth in the format DD-MM-YYYY. Please enter your accurate information as it appears on your PAN card. (You never know- we might even surprise you with some birthday wishes).


Address

Please provide your permanent address here, exactly as it appears on the document you will use later on as a proof of identity (Aadhar card / Driving License / Passport / Voter’s ID).


Pincode 

Input  the Pincode (for the address above).


State 

Fill in the state (for the address you entered above). 


Bank Account 

Provide the account number of the bank account that you will be using as your primary account.


IFSC Code 

Enter the IFSC Code for the branch in which you hold the account (as entered above). You can find this mentioned on your cheque or in the account details on your passbook/ account statement. 


Source of Funds

Anti-money laundering regulations stipulate that we maintain a record of the source of funds used to invest in cryptocurrency. Please enter where did the money you propose to use to buy bitcoin/ ethereum come from. 


Occupation

What is your occupation? Again- this is an anti-money laundering regulation requirement.



You will then be asked to upload the following documents

Please pay special attention to the instructions for each of the required documents:


PAN Card

This will serve as your primary proof of identity, as well as comply with taxation regulatory requirements. Please take a photo of the front side of your PAN card. Ensure that your name, photo and PAN number are clearly visible.


Address Proof 

You can provide us with any of the following as an address proof: 

  • Aadhar Card (OR)
  • Driver’s license (OR)
  • Passport (OR)
  • Voter’s Card

Please ensure that the address is identical to the permanent address you provided earlier on. 


Selfie

You will have to take a selfie of yourself through the app. This helps us prevent fraud and protect you from identity theft. Please ensure that no hair or other obstacles are covering your face. While taking the selfie, your face should completely fit into the demarcated oval area. 


Bank Account Proof 

You can provide us with any of the following documents pertaining to your bank account: 

  • Cheque  (OR)
  • Bank passbook  (OR)
  • Bank Account e-statement  (OR)

The bank document that you provide must have the following information : Account holder’s Name, Account Number, IFSC Code.


To prevent rejection of your KYC:
Take photos of your original documents through the app itself
Do not use previously scanned images or photocopies of the documents


Tips for uploading your documents: 
Use the most recent version of the Zebb app 
Take the picture in a well lit area (natural light works best)
Use indirect light for your document to avoid glare. Do not use the torch on your phone.
Place the document on a flat plain surface as a background
Holding the document in your fingers can cause the camera to lose focus and create a blurred image


Tips for taking a selfie:
Face the camera directly and ensure your shoulders to the top of your head is visible
Stand with your back to a plain wall as a background
Have indirect light and no backlight
Do not wear sunglasses or a hat
If you were wearing glasses in your ID photo, try wearing them in your selfie photo 
If you weren't wearing glasses in your ID photo, try removing them for your selfie photo



Initiate the Verification


Once you have filled in your details accurately and uploaded all the required documents, the button ‘Initiate Verification’ will be activated.


If the button has not been activated, please scroll up and check all the information you have entered once again to resolve the highlighted errors. 


Tap on ‘Initiate Verification’ 


That’s it! Your job is done. Now sit back and let us work our magic. 


Our bot will automatically complete most verifications within a few minutes. If this does not happen, it means that your KYC will have to be verified by a human (manual verification) and will take a little longer.


The estimated time to complete a manual verification is 48 hours. In case of any issues with any of your information and/or provided documents, our support team will get in touch with you through email.
